Polestar 4 Coupé Review
There is a lot I really like about the Polestar 4. The quality is exceptional, the driving position is superb, the chassis actually encourages you to find an interesting road and the interior feels every bit as premium as the price suggests. After several days with the rear-wheel-drive version, including around 200 miles in a single trip, it is the sort of EV I could very easily live with. It is not perfect. Some of the driver-assistance technology became irritating, the touchscreen still controls too much and I never completely warmed to the digital rear-view mirror. But those frustrations are surrounded by so much good stuff that the Polestar 4 has become one of my favourite cars in this part of the market.
Geely EX2 Review: Exceptional Value Without Feeling Cheap
The Geely EX2 is one of the strongest-value small electric cars I have driven. It combines genuinely impressive passenger and luggage space, a comfortable ride, loads of equipment, clever technology and an eight-year warranty with a starting price of £20,990. Performance is leisurely and the maximum 214-mile range won't suit everybody, but for everyday driving the EX2 feels considerably more accomplished than its price suggests.

Denza Z9GT Review
The Denza Z9GT looks smart, feels substantial and appears hugely impressive on paper. Seeing it in person made me appreciate the design more than I expected. The long shooting-brake profile is elegant, the rear styling gives it plenty of presence and the interior seems suitably luxurious. I also like that Denza has chosen something bold and different for its UK introduction instead of playing it safe with another anonymous SUV. There are still some significant questions. The £105,000 price is ambitious, the car is extremely heavy and early reports suggest its ride, software and finer details might not yet match the best established luxury cars. Flash Charging could be the feature that changes the conversation completely, but only once the supporting network becomes widely available. For now, the Z9GT is one of the most intriguing new cars coming to the UK. I like what I have seen, and the specification is difficult to ignore. What I really want now is the opportunity to get properly hands-on, live with the technology and find out whether it feels as impressive from behind the wheel as it does on paper.
Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider Review
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider successfully combines hypercar performance with the drama and enjoyment of an open-top Ferrari. It is not perfect. The touch-sensitive interior controls need improvement, practicality is limited and the cost will put it beyond the reach of almost everyone. However, its combination of speed, design, technology and character makes it a truly memorable car. On the right road, with the roof lowered and the V8 singing behind you, it delivers exactly the sort of experience people dream of when they think about Ferrari.

BYD Dolphin Surf Comfort Review
The BYD Dolphin Surf Comfort is a genuinely impressive small electric car for the money. It is spacious enough for four adults, has a useful boot, feels quick enough for everyday driving and comes loaded with equipment that would normally be reserved for much more expensive models. Around town it is quiet, nimble and incredibly easy to live with, while the 43.2kWh battery gives it enough real-world range to handle commuting and occasional longer journeys without feeling overly restrictive. It is not perfect. The ride can become unsettled on rougher roads, motorway refinement is only average and some of the driver assistance systems feel intrusive or poorly calibrated. The lack of proper one-pedal driving is also a missed opportunity. Even so, the Dolphin Surf succeeds because it feels like a proper, usable electric car rather than a budget compromise. The Renault 5 remains the more desirable and polished choice, but the BYD is one of the strongest value-for-money electric cars currently available.

The Jaecoo 7 Luxury 1.5 SHS is a car I really wanted to like. On paper, it has so much going for it. The price is competitive, the styling is strong, the cabin looks premium, the equipment list is huge, and the efficiency I saw was genuinely impressive. Getting around 48 miles of electric range in cold weather and averaging around 55mpg over mixed driving are both strong results. But after 600 miles, I didn’t come away loving it. The ride felt too bouncy at speed, the car didn’t feel planted enough in corners, the seats weren’t comfortable enough for long journeys, and the climate control and screen glitches became frustrating. Add in the fact that my passengers felt travel sick on faster roads, and it just didn’t suit the way I drive or use a car. That doesn’t make it a bad car. It makes it a car with a very specific appeal. If you want a stylish, well-equipped, efficient plug-in hybrid SUV and most of your driving is local or steady-paced, the Jaecoo 7 SHS could still be worth a look. But if you’re considering buying or leasing one, my advice would be simple: don’t rely on the spec sheet alone. Take it on a proper test drive. Get it up to motorway speeds. Try it on a few faster corners. Spend enough time in the seats. Take your passengers with you. Because the Jaecoo 7 SHS impressed me on efficiency and value, but it didn’t win me over as a car to live with every day.
Kia EV9 GT S Review
The Kia EV9 GT Line S is one of the most impressive electric SUVs I have driven. It has huge space, loads of tech and a calm, well designed cabin. It is not cheap and the charging speed on lower power chargers is slow, but the positives easily outweigh the downsides. This is a genuine alternative to the traditional premium brands and shows how far Kia has come.
Changan Deepal S07 Review
The Changan Deepal S07 is a comfortable, tech-packed electric SUV that makes a strong case for itself. It looks good, it feels premium inside, it is easy and relaxing to drive. But it is not a car for people who love driving. If you want feedback, engagement and involvement, you will probably find it a bit detached. If you want a calm, comfortable, well-equipped EV that feels like a mobile living room, this could be right up your street. It is a clear sign that brands like Changan are not just catching up, they are setting their own agenda.
Renault 4 E-Tech Review

The new Performance model is not a total reinvention, but it is a meaningful step forward and remains one of the most impressive all-round performance cars you can buy.
