November Recap: Fitness, Adventures & Festive Beginnings
As we bid farewell to November, I can’t help but reflect on what a packed month it’s been. From city outings to fitness milestones, festive beginnings to cherished family get-togethers, this month was all about balancing work, wellness, and a touch of indulgence. Here’s a snapshot of what November looked like for me.
The month started strong, after returning from my spa retreat at Soho Farmhouse I went to Shelter Hall in Brighton to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. This vibrant spot, with its multiple kitchens and live music, set the tone for a lively start to November.
Later, I ventured into London to tick Notting Hill off my bucket list. Wandering Portobello Road, browsing the hundreds of market stalls and cute shops, soaking in the charm of Electric Cinema made for a nostalgic day that felt straight out of a movie. I even managed to visit the iconic Travel Bookshop from Notting Hill.
November also marked continued dedication to my fitness journey. Strength training sessions at Brighton Beach House became a weekly staple, and I took on my first Peloton spin class. Let’s just say it was a love-hate relationship, but cardio improvement is on my radar.
The crisp autumn air inspired long walks, from Hove seafront to the South Downs, where the rolling hills provided both a workout and breathtaking views. My goal to stay active, even with a busy schedule, is something I’m really proud of. Having a dog around definitely is encouragement to get out and get the steps in; he’s always keen to get out come rain or shine.
Even with the social events, delicious cocktails and enjoying meals out, I’m extremely delighted with my progress, finishing the month with an 11.4lbs loss and needing to add another hole to my belt.
Professionally, this month brought some exciting opportunities. I attended the prestigious FN50 Awards Ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, and explored sponsorship opportunities with young racing talent at Brands Hatch, with an obligatory few passenger laps. The learning also continued with advanced customer communication nurturing program building workshop with our ESP, and more online training to brush up on my digital marketing skills.
As the month progressed, the festive season began to creep in. A Black Friday trip to London’s Carnaby Street with my friend Habeeba was the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Between shopping and cocktails in Soho, it was a day of indulgence and celebration.
It was fantastic to get together with part of the family I don’t see often enough, it generally only tends to be at large family events such as weddings, big milestone birthdays or sadly funerals. But this year, we’ve managed to get two dates in the diary, one summer and one pre-christmas get together.
This November, I feel like I struck a balance between exploration, self-care, and productivity. Whether it was unwinding at Soho House locations or powering through workouts, every day had its own unique rhythm.
As we now start December, I’m looking forward to more festive gatherings, charity balls, the annual work Christmas party, reflecting on the year, and setting goals for 2025.
