Genesis has put a UK price on its first high-performance production car. The GV60 Magma was announced from £75,915 in May 2026, moving the electric crossover into a substantially different part of the market from an everyday family EV.
The UK model information lists up to 478kW, or 650PS. Its visual changes include a full-width rear spoiler and Magma-specific 21-inch forged wheels with wide tyres. The announcement makes clear that this is a distinct performance proposition rather than simply a new paint finish.
What it means for buyers
That level of performance makes the everyday questions more relevant, not less. Buyers should try the actual suspension and wheel specification on imperfect roads, check insurance and tyre costs, and make sure the seats and controls work comfortably when the car is being driven gently.
I would also separate the vehicle's price from any advertised monthly offer. A business contract-hire rental excluding VAT is not directly comparable with a private monthly payment, and expired launch promotions should not be used to price a current order. The Magma deserves attention for its ambition; a final verdict on its balance of comfort and speed requires a proper drive.
